Homework

Enrolling in Mastering Physics: Instructions come with the textbook. The course ID is SPRING08201. Enroll using your UW student ID number. The zip code for UW is 53706. If you didn't buy a textbook from the UW Bookstore, you can go to www.masteringphysics.com and select the Giancoli link. You will be able to purchase a license using a credit card.

Assignments: Assignments will be posted in Mastering Physics, one assignment per chapter. In addition to entering your answers into the computer, record your work in your homework notebook for future reference.

The first homework assignment is Introduction to Mastering Physics. Due Jan. 25. This (ungraded) assignment will give you practice using the homework system.

Solutions: Solutions to the Giancoli problem portions of the homework assignments will be posted on or shortly after the due dates. They are available from the physics library reserves page.

Practice: In addition to the assigned homework sets, there will be a set of optional "assignments", titled "Chapter x Practice", that consist of additional problems for your own use.
