Some of the on-line activities (homework, preflight, gradebook, etc.) for this course run on a secure server and must be logged into. This server is maintained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Most of the software and interactive HW used for this course was developed by the Dept of Physics at the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaing (UIUC).

1. Students enrolled in the course must log in using their Physics 174 NetID and password.
2. Your Physics 174 NetID is just your UW-W e-mail name without the "@uww.edu" part. (If your e-mail is AardvarkAJ12@uww.edu, your NetID will be AardvarkAJ12.)
   
3. Your initial password is set to your 10-digit UW Student ID number, with no hyphens or spaces.
   
4. If you are enrolled in the course and are having trouble logging in, send email to me. Be sure to include your name, section number, NetID, and 10 digit student ID number in your email.
   

Note: Your browser needs to have cookies enabled. Check the Options or Preferences pane of your browser. If you need more help with this, check with one of the monitors in the campus Computer labs.

If you are not enrolled, you can log into many of the secure activities using guest as your NetID and guest as your password. (Enrolled students should avoid using the guest login since credit is not recorded for guest.) You should always log out of the secure server at the end of your work session. Secure server Log In and Log Out links are located at the bottom of this and subsequent menu pages.
