First, do you really want to log in the the Spring 2006 Physics 104 web site? It's not a current web site!

Some of the on-line activities (homework, gradebook, etc.) for this course run on a secure server and must be logged into.

If you took Physics 103 in the fall (2005), your password has been reset to your 10 digit UW Student ID number. This will not affect you unless you changed your password.

If you registered before 11 AM, January 6, you are on the roster and you should be able to log in. If you are not registered by 11 AM Jan 6, you will have to wait until Jan 13 before you can log in. After Jan 6, I will update the roster on Friday evenings.

    1.  If you register during the week, wait until after the next roster update (Friday evening) before you try to log in.

    2.  You must log in using your 10 digit UW Student ID, with no hyphens or spaces. (If your ID has 11 digits, enter the first 10.)

    3.  Your initial password is also your 10-digit UW Student ID number, with no hyphens or spaces. (If your ID has 11 digits, enter the first 10.) You can change your password on the Gradebook page.

    4.  Your browser needs to have cookies enabled. Check the Options or Preferences pane of your browser.

Please follow the above instructions CAREFULLY. Common difficulties are including hyphens or spaces in the ID, entering 11 digits, and using My UW passwords. If you're not doing any of these, you have waited until the next roster update (see #1 above) and you're still having difficulty, send  your FULL name, your lab section number (a number from 301 to 350, not the 5-digit timetable number) your 10-digit UW Student ID number, and the date you registered to dmarshal@wisc.edu.

If you are not registered, or just not on the roster yet, you can log into many of the secure activities using guest as guest as your password. (Warning: Credit for homework and preflights is NOT recorded for guest logins. Homework numbers for guest are likely to be different than the ones you get when you log in with your UW Student ID.)

You should always log out of the secure server at the end of your work session. Secure server Log In and Log Out links are located at the bottom of this page, the main page and many other pages.
